How about an astronomy web app?
I cannot begin to list the number and size of online star/galaxy/planetary/asteroid catalogs avaialble for download, many from the universities and organizations that compiled them. Since they are government funded, the data is free.
All they need is code!
An astro web app that always uses the latest huge catalogs? WOW!
